Hope the course is paved roads, otherwise I'd be a bit concerned about traction. The other concern is blistering (make sure they fit really well and take precautions with troubling blister points) and the weight of the water in the shoes. Any shoe you go with is going to get wet. Pick a pair that you can wear ultrathin socks in. The thicker the socks, the more water you'll be carrying around in those shoes.
