As some of you know, I am training to run my first marathon (Baltimore) this October and am up to approximately 30 miles a week. However, I am having trouble just getting myself out the door to train/run. When I'm out running/training, I am okay, but I play mind games with myself, like "I have too much other things to do" or "I'm too tired to train today." Is there such a thing as "mental burnout" from training so much?
I love to run and physically, I'm doing okay. Did/does anyone else get too overwhelmed with the mental side of training? How do I overcome this so it's not such a struggle to get out the door? Do I take a break, do I push through this, what? All thoughts are truely welcome.
