North, JoeZ and Steve, I took your ideas and put them to work (different routes, summer races, looking to the immediate future and not all the way to October) and I've made tremendous strides in my training. It is hot and muggy here, but I started to run in the late evenings when the sun goes down and it's fun again!!! Sure, I hurt after my long runs, but the larger picture is still in front of me - the Baltimore Marathon. I even posted a picture of Regina Jacobs on my fridge to remind me that you're never to old to accomplish your goals (even though she has been training much longer than me). When I add an extra mile or two to my long runs, I have that "runner's high" because I have now accomplished something that I have never done before.
Like I said in my earlier posting, you guys/ladies make wonderful training partners. Let's keep this up. :-)
