Runners know this: running is a contagious condition...
So, as it happens to all of you, occasionally a friend will say, "hey, I'll give running a try", and you are instantly appointed volunteer coach...
Usually this is simple enough, you show the basics and the runner just picks up from then...
This one is a new problem for me and I have no idea what to say to my new running buddy: she gets winded in no time. After but just a few kilometers of easy running she can hardly speak while running. Her breathing is quick and loud. This woman has a slight problem with high blood pressure but aside from that she is in top condition. A former sprinter, she got into swimming and then into gym work (she trains 4 to 5 times a week, sometimes more, and has done so for years).
I'm really at a loss here. In fact, she's the exact opposite of me: while my engine is good, my wheels are a problem (only my legs will slow me down whereas hers are just great... if only she could keep it up!).
Any wise advice I can pass along here?
