Why can't I stop eating?

I've just started training for my first marathon. I'm feeling really strong and am sticking to my training schedule. My problem is that I'm really gaining weight. I know that old "muscle weighs more than fat" thing, but is weight gain normal during training (5 pounds and counting) and, if so, how much? I feel pregnant! I am constantly munching! I'm 31, 5'6", 125 lbs. I read that I should be eating at least 2,000 calories per day and I have to admit I don't really count -- I just EAT. My whole life, I've opted for 5-6 small meals a day rather than 3 large ones. Any comments on this while I'm training?
