If you're training for you're first marathon, I must assume that you're weekly mileage has gone up. As a result, you are burning more calories then before and your body will want to replace the expended energy. I can't hazard a guess as to the reason for what appears to be extreme weight gain, but we are often preoccupied with the scale and what we think we should weigh.
Nibbling can often lead someone astray, so I would recommed eating the same small meals, but monitoring the snacks. DOn't change the portions in the meals and don't get hung up on the number of calories. Watch the sodas and candy, and replace some unheathly snacks with things like apples. That should help. ANd if the wieght gain continues, I would seek the advice of a nutrisonist.
