As others have already posted, there's not much you can do about altitude performance if you're training at sea-level. Unless you want to invest in one of those altitude tanks Alberto Salazar used to promote years ago.

Although finish time is not your first priority, you might be interested to know that a table published in Jack Daniels' Running Formula (Human Kinetics Press) suggests that a nonacclimatized 4-hour sea-level marathoner would run approx. 8 - 10% slower at 5,000 ft. altitude (or up to 24 minutes longer than you may be accustomed to).
