There are scads of good books on marathon training. The best, and easiest to read is Jeff "Galloway's Book on Running". You will also acquire training aches and pains along the way (perhaps even an injury). So pick up a copy of "Running Injury-Free: How to Prevent, Treat and Recover from Dozens of Painful Problems"

Best wishes!
