I'm okay with it, since most people I talk to use minutes/mile when describing pace, and races like 5K and 10K are good benchmarks as most people have a time that they should be able to convert to minutes/mile. What I find frustrating is when you enter a 5K and get mile markers instead of km markers. If it's going to be marked in miles, you may as well call it a 3.1 miler instead of a 5K.
