There weren't many surprises going from 0 to 10 miles. In a previous life I ran a lot and my body remembered. But I "discovered" abrasion at 12 miles (about 2 hours). And sure enough, at 10 miles I'm fine, but at 12 I get rubbed raw in spots.
As I increase my training will I encounter any other surprises? Blisters, maybe? Or various aches and pains that are common at the longer distancces? Or is 26.2 just a l-o-n-g 12?
Stated simply, are there any common, distance-related problems I should be aware of?
Thanks!
