If you don't blister by 12 miles, you probably won't blister much over 26.2 (unless the pavement is very warm, or your shoes get wet).
But yes, there are a whole variety of nagging things that will surface as you train for a marathon. If you don't have them on your bookshelf yet, be sure to find these two references: Galloway's Book on Running, and Running Injury-Free: How to Prevent, Treat and Recover from Dozens of Painful Problems. You will find great wisdom in each of these books.
