I am 5'3", 109, female, 36. When in training for a marathon, i.e. 40-50 miles per week phase, I eat easily 2200 calories a day. My answer to hunger is to go for fruit, cereal, bagels, rice, etc. I also try to eat meat (fish, chicken, the occasional steak) about 5 times a week since I was once told I'm borderline anemic. Your needs will be specific to your personal metabolism, but try adding a couple pieces of fruit or a bowl of raisin bran to your daily diet, and see if you start to gain weight or start feeling pluckier.M y point is only that you're probably not going to balloon if you try eating a bit more as an experiment.
