Anyone with this problem?

I've always been in relatively good shape and have decided to train for and complete a marathon this year. Right now I'm up to running 8 miles.

Here's my problem. I have this horrible mental problem where everytime I run I either have to be faster in pace or longer in distance. And I run 5 days a week.

It wasn't an issue, but now it's becoming a big one. When I wake up I'm encountering less fun and more apprehension due to the fact that I have to beat the day before either in time or distance.

I know I'm supposed to be training. But I worry about injury at this point. I just CANNOT shake the "loser" feeling I get if I log a slower time or less distance then the day before. Anyone else with this problem?
