I ran Kiawah back in '95 as a last attempt to qualify for Boston's 100th run in '96. According to Runner's World it's one of the top qualifying races. Unfortunately, it rained the entire race! Really! So I'm not sure if it's shaded or not. Needless to say it was cooler than usual. But I will add that it is run on streets through "neighborhoods". That means lots of twists and turns - not many straights. Overall it was an interesting experience for me. You have to have permission to enter Kiawah Island. Reminded me a bit of Gilligan's Island! So sit right back and hear a tale. . .
