Dealing with heat

How do y'all deal with heat and humidity? I seem to be very heat sensitive. Last couple of weeks I cruised through 12, but today, an unseasonably warm, humid day, I quit at 9. This has happened a number of times before while on vacation. I'll be someplace a bit warmer than I'm used to, decide to take a run, and liked to die half way out.

The reason I ask is that I planned to run Kiawah in December, but that would take me from the cold interior to the humid coast and I'm afraid I'll bonk.

Thanks!
