So I'm planning to run the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon May 1st (my second marathon) and am studying the website. Interesting to note, anyone can log on and vote for this year's t-shirt design. What is NOT nice is to discover the "Clydesdale" and "Athena" categories for the "muscular" runners. Qualifiying weights are 200lbs+ for men and 140lbs+ for women!!! REALLY. I find this offensive. I am no athelete - but with 30+ miles/week before my long runs, I still come very close to qualifying as an "Athena." I am, by no means, a "whispy" woman. But I am a size 8 and that certainly is not considered "hefty" as the Cincinnati race planners would have one think. Has anyone noticed similar categories in other races?
