OK, so I'm ready to take the plunge and run my first marathon. But I would like my first marathon to be something extra-special ... and running in Paris, the most beautiful city, next April is something that really fires up my imagination.
To anyone who has run Paris, what do you think of the course, the crowd, the organization? Is it a good first marathon? Is it a particularly difficult course? And is it hard to get into (like the NYC marathon)?
I live in Brooklyn, and I've watched the marathon wind through my neighborhood every November ... I'd love to do the marathon here sometime, but not as my first. If not Paris, can anyone suggest another extra-special "first" marathon? (Travel isn't an issue, by the way.)
Thanks for any insight you can share.
