Actually, I did the old Baltimore Marathon (whose name changed to the Maryland Marathon in the late 70's).
The course started at Memorial Stadium (the old home of the Colts and Orioles) and went out into the countryside and back. The year I did it, we ended up finishing inside an arena. The course was brutal and featured a 385 foot climb at mile 16 (Satyr Hill) among many, many other hills.
Hence, I had to chuckle when I read something about Baltimore being "flat"; perhaps the route is radically different this time around (which would be too bad, as the old course was rather pretty)
