Has anyone ran a Marathon as a long training run, several weeks before their Goal Marathon? My training partner and I are contemplating running a small nearby marathon on 5/27, but our goal Marathon is 3 weeks later on 6/16 (Grandmas). We would run it at a 10:00 pace and take liberal walk breaks(water stops and mile markers). Our goal for 6/16 is 3:55. starting from 4/28, here is our current long-run mileage: 20, 12, 22, 12, 26.2, 12, 10, Goal Marathon. Any thoughts, ideas, or experiences are apreciated!
