I ran my goal marathon 3 weeks before my second (Boston and Pittsburgh). I managed a several minute P.R. in Boston, and ran 1 minute slower in Pittsburgh. The 3 weeks between the 2 was difficult, though; I didn't want to run a long run, and it was hard to concentrate on short runs. Another factor was luck; the weather at both races happened to be very favorable this year. Physically I'm fine now, but one side effect I've noticed is that it's tough getting motivated this summer after working so hard this spring.
