As long as you've effectively rehabbed the plantar fasciitis AND (most importantly) eliminated the root cause of the injury, you really have no need to favor the foot or worry about a recurrance. Just move your mileage up slowly. You'll be fine.
However, if you are experiencing tightness in the following areas -- lower back, hamstrings, calves, and achilles -- you could be slowly burdening the plantar fascia all over again.
The PF is a lever that is designed to handle a certain amount of load. If these other areas become inflexible, the burden of locomotion will shift unfairly to your plantar fascia.
Another cause of plantar fasciitis is attributable to over-pronation. This can be corrected by wearing a motion-control shoe, wearing over-the-counter insoles --or in some cases, custom orthotics.
Let us know how everything goes.
