Injuries can be a real pain beside where it hurts. When I started running things went well for a couple of months. Then I got an ouch. PT said new shoes and orthodicts. Didn't help. Finally went to an MD who knew runners. His assistant first interview me and then the Doc came in the room and grabbed my leg and pressed and said "does that hurt"? After I got off the ceiling he said you are not streching enough. gave me some stretches, some sample meds, charged me $25 (he asked if I had insurance, No I didn't) and sent me on my way. That was Friday. Sunday I did a half marathon with my daughter and some of her friends. I did 2:10 with no pain. Previously, I hadn't run for over a month because of the pain. But I had done a lot of biking and stair stepping. Cross training is great even if you are not injured, but invaluable if you are. Spend the $, see specialist, and get over it and have fun. I have no idea what your age is, but some of us older duffers like to think we are still 20 something. Gotta be careful.
