The great Montreal international marathon has not been presented for a number of years now (which partly explains why running in the area is in decline). There was a marathon distance race in March in Montreal. There is a great series of races in the metro area (Circuit de l'ouest de l'Île, visit www.circuitendurance.org) presenting events in all distances, but not marathon. But cheer up! There's a great (I mean great) marathon in the Québec City area on August 26 - a marathon like few people have seen or experienced (Marathon des deux Rives, visit www.marathonquebec.com). There will be a half marathon in Montréal on September 23. For a complete listing of races visit www.athletisme.qc.ca - go to "course sur route" and "calendrier". I hope this helps - but I insist: consider Québec City (you will not regret it).
