i'm training for my 1st marathon-the cape cod run on 10/31. ran 10 very slow miles on sunday, rested monday, then (tried) to run 5 miles yesterday. had to take walking breaks too often. because i'm building up those long sunday runs, i know i'm making progress, but why is the midweek run so painful? this happened last week, too. i'm 50, following the runner's world schedule, and getting frustrated. can anyone shed light on this? thank you!
