While there are numerous endurance training programs that prepare one for a marathon (and other distances) and sometimes contribute to a great cause, they don't necessarily provide individualized attention/training which can result in unrealistic expectations, poor performance, and injuries.

I'm an experienced long distance runner/coach. I've raced the marathon, half marathon, 10K, and 5K multiple times. I have 15 years of running experience.
