Hi Everyone, I am new to this sight and to marathon running. I have always loved fitness and mostly lift and do wacky forms of pilates, etc. Running was just my quick cardio to keep me lean. So I'm not a runner...yet ;) In short, I just started a training program for my first half marathon which will be on Oct 13th. This weekend was my first "long" (by my definition at this point!) run outdoors, hills and all. I ran 7 miles. Now I know that doesn't seem like much, but to a lifting girl who's used to throwing weight around, this was a whole new experience! I felt great during and after the run. The following morning, I went to get out of bed and almost fell. EVERYTHING hurts! My but, my ankles, everything! I'm still walking with a limp and the run was on Saturday (today is Monday). What is going on with me? I was pretty freaked out. I've experienced some heavy pain due to lifting, but this pain was different. Just wondering where to really start here. I've already checked out some other threads and got a book title and website to get on, but I was really scared by the pain. As long as I can work on it, I'm not stopping anytime soon! -Jen
