If you have only recently taken up the sport of running perhaps if you follow the same training plan you would improve naturally from your body adapting to the running lifestyle. I have read where some people believe a runner should not try a marathon until they have been running a couple years or more. I know that it takes time to build up to be able to run continuously long training runs without developing overuse injuries. Congratulations on wanting to do another one. I remember a lot of times in the last couple of miles where I said to myself and out loud that after this is over I never wanted to do another one. And I sincerely meant it. But I'm glad those thoughts have never lasted.
