Dear fellow runners: I posted this topic on one of the other bulletins, but I'll post here as well in order to obtain the maximum number of opinions and advice.
I broke my pinky toe stubbing it a week ago. I was told to stay off it for 6 weeks. I am already feeling like a lazy slug and it has only been a week.
How long do I really need to stay off the toe before I can run again and in the mean time, other then swimming (I am not partial to swimming laps for excercise) what do you suggest I do to stay in as best shape as I can. Note that I am a new marathon runner and was beginnning to train for the next LA Marathon. I had just run a 10K and a 13 mile race recently and was really getting into my groove. That said, the marathon is eight months away so I still have time to train and be ready for the marathon.
What is really hard to take is the limping around (which is casuing pains in other areas) and the just not being able to get up and go at the pace I normally do.
Any advice out there from a fellow runner who has broken a toe before? I welcome your thoughts.
Thanks!
Rebecca
