thanks for your thoughts on nutrition. I am trying to eat smarter and more voluminously, I will let you know how it goes. Like you, I take gu along on runs longer than 12. Typically I take one about every 5 miles. I run with one of the camelback catlyst packs for water (they work quite well). You mentioned temp and humidity. It has been warm and humid on those long runs I've bonked on, so that probably factored in as well, since I did not adjust my pace down to account for that.
I am off to run a local 5k this a.m. instead of a track speed workout, I figure that will be more enjoyable.
