I agree that running is physically a good thing for someone to do but for me it has helped me psychologically. I have more self-confidence now. Before I always felt inferior and less smart than most people and running has lessened those feelings. Not that I'm very good at it, but I feel that I'm pretty good as compared to when I was out of shape. A couple of years ago I would not have even considered running in a 5K race. I don't race too often because it can get sort of expensive. If people are feeling down I would encourage them to run. It worked for me.
