You probably don't want to tie your hair up too tightly.
I have the worst kind of baby fine hair - seriously, I probably can't afford to lose any more than normally sheds out - and I've had to bite the bullet at various high training times in my life and just cut a bit more off and gone lower maintenance on the 'do.
The more you work out, the more you probably end up washing your hair. I avoid hair dryers, if I can, and avoid pulling my hair back tightly.
Watch what you eat, too - make sure you are getting a balanced diet - and that you are getting enough rest and controlling your stress. If it is still bothering you, ask your doctor about it.
