HH Novice is a 4 day program

HH Novice program is a 4-day running schedule, with one day of cross training. You can run 2 or 3 days or ramp up to 6, but then don't call it HH's Novice Program. The Novice schedule is about as light a marathon program as you can find, but its absolutely solid and reflects in every way all conventional principals about endurace training (worked for me on my first). There is no credible marathon training that requires less than 4 days running per week; if you try 3 days you will have to justify it on self delusion because there is no evidence or logic to support it. And, jumping into a rigorous 6-day running program than tht's more you're prepared for will increase your chance of injury and burnout. Don't worry about 6-days of running; choose an HH schedule that is close to your current base mileage and follow it reasonably closely. Good luck.
