I agree with you. My solution is to buy shoes only from a very few companies that I know to fit me reasonably well, and to buy their best shoes. Even then, for races, I put several waterproof band-aids on known trouble spots. My wish list for shoe companies would be for them to sell shoes singlely, rather than as pairs, because my feet aren't the same size. So what do we want? 1. Accurate sizes. 2. Snug heels and roomy shoeboxes. 3. Shoes sold as separates (like some men's suits and some women's swimsuits).
