What I did to get rid of the pain in the Achilles Tendon area was I got fitted for Custom Shoe insoles. I went to the doctor, Orthopedic Specialist and he gave me a prescription to get fitted for them. I have run three marathons since and hundred's of training miles without foot problems. I had also suffered from Plantar Fasciitis. Just one more note, I got fitted for two pairs, one for my running shoes and the other I use everyday, dress shoes, etc. You can expect the pain to go away unless you get proper fitting all day. I hope this may help, if it is your fitting. Good luck.
