I have worn a fuel belt that holds 2- 20 ounce bottles . It also has zipper packs for Gu and key, etc. i like being able to drink when I want to and not worry about when the next aid station is. Also I carry acclerade packets and put those in my bottles and drink the plain water at the aid stations. In my first marathon I didn't carry as amny GUs as I had planned because someone told me they would be available on the course. By the time I got to the station with GU they had run out. FYI , the Austin Marathon in February has the best ais stations-- on e every mile with water, gatorade, vaseline , etc and plenty of volunteers to hand them out.
