A few marathons to consider for your first time.

I ran my first marathon on 3/10/02, the Valley of the Sun Marathon in Mesa, Az. It was a wonderful, scenic course that was not to hilly and I finished in 4:51 at age 49. My second one was on 1/19/03The Lost Dutchman in Apache Junction, Az. and it was also great. That one I finished in 4:12 at age 50. On 1/11/04 I ran P.F. Chang's Rock 'N' Roll Marathon in Phoenix. What a blast that was. The course is flat so it's fast. I ran a 3:57 which qualified me to run the Boston Marathon on 4/18/05. Any of these 3 races are good first time marathons and southern Az. temperatures are great that time of the year. Best of luck on your first marathon. You'll get hooked on running marathons, I did!
