Thanks so much to everyone who contributes to these bulletin boards. I just ran my first marathon yesterday in San Diego, and it went well. Because I trained by myself, I relied a lot on the info found here and really appreciate everyone's imput. :)
Two things I hadn't anticipated: battling to find bathrooms along the course without 15 minute lines - Comfort Inn in downtown was nice enough to open two of their rooms to let runners use the bathrooms - and my sunblock melting off so early, that even though the entire day was overcast, I still got burned. Grateful and overjoyed to have finished - more than makes up for it!
