I think we are not too far apart philosophically. You are obviously an active person who is in great shape. To take on a marathon or a long distance bike race or anything like that would not be too much to ask. It is because you have chosen an active life style that you are able to seek new and different challenges.
That is what I'm talking about with marathon training. To be sure, I have certain goals I'm trying to reach in marathoning. At the same time, I'm not adverse to trying other physical activities now that I'm getting in reasonably good shape.
If a person's primary exercise is drinking beer, running a marthon on too little training is asking for trouble. I hope that isn't the case with Mike here. In Johnny's case, he at least was doing the eliptical exercise machine three times a week for 40 minutes and he was in his 20s.
Mike what is your general fitness level? Do you exercise regularly? Do you run at all?
