I really want to win my local marathon in December. I have done that race only once before and my time was 4:38. I have been doing training for about two weeks so far that consists of:
Monday - 8 miles
Tuesday - Easy run (2 miles) AM & PM
Wenesday - 5 miles
Thursday - Easy run (2 miles) AM & PM
Friday - Long run (13.1) every week i increase in 3 mile increments
Saturday - Easy run (2 miles) AM& PM
Sunday - Speed Work (0.2 mile @ 4:00 pace, 0.4 mile @ 5:00 pace) Every other week I run up a hill (1.5 miles - pretty steep too!)
My AM runs are also done at a 6:00 pace, while the PM easy runs are done at 10 or less (I do those w/ my girlfriend).
Does this sound like a good training program? Any elite runners out there help me out! I want to be as fast as you guys!
