Sunburst in South Bend -- too small??

I ran my first marathon in October in Dublin, Ireland, which had 9000 runners. It was a good size -- plenty of company as well as spectators. Now I'd like to do a late spring, early summer marathon before doing Chicago in the fall of 2001. Since I was too late to get into Grandma's, I'm considering Sunburst in South Bend, IN. However, they only expect about 650 runners. Has anyone done this one, or a race similar with so few runners? It would be close to home for me, and finishing on the 50 yard line of Notre Dame stadium would be kind of neat! But I'm not sure about the small size. Any comments or suggestions? Maria
