I guess you read my earlier reply in this thread about training for my own marathon on 2 runs per week. Of course I'm really interested to hear that someone else has run a marathon on 2x/week, especially when they used a *totally* different approach. Everything we did was different!

you: run Sat/Sun me: run Wed/Sun -- you: run long/long me: run short/long -- you: no crosstraining (?) me: crosstrain 2-3 other days

Even our background is different, since I did not run or play sports in H/S or college.

Are you really resting all week? (no other exercise) Do you always run the same distance on Sat and Sun? Are they always the same pace? When you ramp up distance prior to a marathon, is it a steady progression, or do you insert some recovery weeks? Has this been your running schedule for a long time now?

This is really quite interesting. Someone on this site (Zeke, I think) said they thought I was crazy to think of trying a marathon on 2 runs/week. I wonder what he would say about your plan?
