Years ago I used to loathe Boston Bandits, but these days the BAA field is so damn huge it doesn't matter. Having said that, I applaud your guts for trying to go the distance, dude.

As you would imagine, there's no time left to offer any sensible training plan for a Boston first-timer. The Melrose half and the 20 miler you're targeting will certainly provide the longer runs you desperately need.

You'll be entering unchartered waters on Patriot's Day. No matter how good you feel early on, run very slowly all the way to the Newton Hills. From an effort standpoint, the marathon has 2 equal halves: the first 20 miles and the final 6.2. Good luck!
