Greetings, Fellow Penguins!
I am a Marathon Walker, and recently completed my third Marathon -- Los Angeles on that brutally hot (90+) day. I was doing well on my 15-16 minute/mile pace, but the heat sapped everything out of me and I had difficulty after about Mile 20, BUT I finished! Yea!
My question is, my training partner and I are training for the Rock N Roll San Diego Marathon on June 6, and we expect to be able to keep our 15-minute pace and finish with a PR of 6:30. (Wish us luck!) What we want to know is, would it be wise, or are we risking injury, to participate in the San Francisco Chronicle Marathon on August 1? We are in pretty good shape, no injuries, legs feet and body feel great. (Could stand to lose a few pounds, but who couldn't?)
Thanks in advance to all you seasoned Marahoners out there for your advice!
