Didn't I already accuse you of improvising on your training schedule?
Time to take a time out and regroup.
Give yourself a week off of running, get healed and rested.
Now, start back on that schedule where you left off and quit improvising.
You have to learn patience man! It may take you a year until you are at the point where your ready to begin a training program. If it does, so what? You leaving the planet?
Don't try to do your workouts in a certain time. The point of the mileage build up program is to build muscle endurance. Speed comes with endurance. Follow that schedule to the letter. Don't run any more or any less than you are scheduled (unless you are injured).
Stick in there man. You'll be doing 10 mile runs and feeling you could have done more in no time.
Enjoy your running, don't make it a chore that you start to hate.
Lifetime sport. Think lifetime.
