Hey Ed,
Nope, ACL surgery is the reason why my knee is bothering me. I had my media and lateral miniscus(sp?) as well as my ACL blown out in 2000. I used to be quite active, but I let myself spiral downhill and become a big couch potato.
At any rate, I am well into the 2nd week of the first schedule, and feel a bit better today after my 4mile run. 35:49 was the time. Not a 6 min mile, but not too bad.
My knee didn't hurt me today after the run, so I'm just guessing it's going to come and go. I am committed to this lifestyle though. Even if I can't run, I'll bike. Even if I can't bike I'll swim, Heck, if I have to crawl to keep myself in shape I'll do it. :)
I feel OK to go running though. I am thinking about the Disney marathon simple because it's flat, and it's pretty close to me: Macon, Ga. That's in Jan of 2005, which I think will allow me plenty of time to prepare and build up. I _MAY_ do the Atlanta one... but it's on Thanksgiving day... :/ The one in Chattanooga seems like a really confusing corse, so I don't think I'll do it, plus it's a bit quick on my schedule timeline.
tx. again for your input. Trae
