Congratulations on your lifestyle change. Did you get decent running shoes before starting your running program? Are you stretching afterward? What pace are you doing your running? Do you have a target marathon in mind?

The cross training can be what you are doing right now on the elliptical or bike. You could also just walk or swim. You really should have one complete day of rest though with no exercise. Let your body build itself up.
