Training for London Marathon

Hi, I am training for my first marathon on 22nd April in London. It's going reasonably well but with it being my first time I am a little apprehensive. I am training alone so motivation is sometimes hard and I miss the odd day. I did a half marathon run on the treadmill in 2 hours and I was fine. I usually train on the treadmill 3 times a week doing an hours run + weights.

I haven't done much road running (longest run of 7 miles) and I am worried that this may be a problem as people say it's much tougher on the roads. My training schedule is quite hard to stick to as it says I need to run about 4 times a week or more. These are schedules that I have been sent with literature from the organisers of the London Marathon. I also do weight training on my legs.

Basically I am just after advice from runners who've done it before about the minimum amount you should aim to do. It freezing cold and nearly always raining in England now so I prefer treadmill until things pick up. Has anyone done treadmills only and then encountered problems on race day?

Also, I am not feeling 100% right now, I feel a little achy, as if a flu is on its way. But it's not full blown yet, should I attempt to train if I feel 90% and a little lethargic?

Any advice for this anxious first time marathoner welcomed! Darren
