Sounds like you haven't done the tests to get your accurate maximum heart rate.

Training zones are based on percent of max, or on percent of lactate (anaerobic) threshold, so you need to get a fairly accurate measure of one or both of those. You also need to get a value of your resting HR to use calculate the proper zones.

For the max HR, the old formula 220-age (or any other formula) just doesn't cut it. Ya gotta measure it!
