Thanks - I guess I will aim for the 5 hour pace - I should be able to maintain that without too much struggle.. Would there be any advantage to trying a long run at that pace? I have two more 20 milers planned - one 5 weeks before the marathon and one 3 weeks before (my last long run) or is that just setting myself up for injury?
I do calculate time in percentages. During a long run, I do the math to mentally calculate my pace - I've just never taken it one step further to convert it to actual seconds - something I can do in the future to carry out the math distraction a little longer.
