Help I have been training for the Dallas marathon for several months now, the race itself is on March 28th... but from when I started training until this morning when I weight myself... I have gained 12lbs... I was a bit over weight when I started training and had hoped that the training would help me break the plateu that I had found myself at. But instead the reverse has been true and I have been gaining. I eat every healthy, 6 meals a day with a balance of carbs, lean protien and good fats. I have increased my carb intake some to accomidate for the extended runs ( I did my biggest pre race run this last Wednesday at 22 miles. I make sure I drink lots of water and still can not figure out what I am doing wrong. Any sugestions you may have please let me know.
